Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 6, 2026
LifeLine Assistive Technologies LLC ("LifeLine," "we," "us," or "our") operates the LifeLine application and the website at life--line.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.
We take privacy exceptionally seriously. LifeLine handles sensitive health data, disability-related information, communication records, and legal documentation. We believe this data belongs to you, not to us.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: email address, name, and authentication credentials (passkeys, passwords, or TOTP tokens).
- Health and wellness data: mood logs, energy levels, symptom tracking, medication records, therapy notes, and vitals you choose to enter.
- Communication data: call transcripts, call recordings (when you enable recording), call preparation notes, AI-generated summaries, and drafted correspondence.
- Documents: files you upload for call preparation, accommodation letters, or personal records.
- Task and calendar data: tasks, appointments, and calendar entries you create or sync.
- Contact information: names, phone numbers, and email addresses of contacts you add.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: which features you use, session duration, and error logs needed to maintain service quality.
- Device information: device type, operating system version, and app version — used only for compatibility and debugging.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not scan your contacts, messages, or files outside of what you explicitly provide to LifeLine.
- We do not collect biometric data beyond voice recordings you explicitly create for voice cloning.
- We do not sell, share, or trade any of your data. Period.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide and improve LifeLine's services:
- Providing real-time call assistance, transcription, and AI coaching.
- Generating call summaries, follow-up actions, and compliance documentation.
- Tracking health patterns and providing AI-powered observations about your well-being.
- Managing tasks with energy-aware prioritization.
- Syncing data across your devices.
- Maintaining account security and preventing unauthorized access.
3. Data Architecture and Encryption
LifeLine uses a database-per-user architecture. Your data is not pooled with other users' data. Each user has their own isolated, encrypted database.
- Encryption at rest: All user databases are encrypted using SQLCipher with AES-256 encryption.
- Field-level encryption: Particularly sensitive fields (health records, call transcripts, legal documents) receive an additional layer of AES-256 encryption.
- Encryption in transit: All network communication uses TLS 1.3.
- Key management: Encryption keys are derived from your credentials and are not stored in plaintext on our servers.
4. AI and Third-Party Providers
LifeLine uses AI models to provide call coaching, transcription, pattern detection, and other intelligent features. You have control over which AI provider is used:
- Cloud providers: When using Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, or Google (Gemini), portions of your data are sent to these providers to process AI requests. Each provider has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data in API calls. We only send the minimum context needed for each request.
- Local inference: When using Ollama or other local AI providers, no data leaves your device for AI processing.
- Speech-to-text: When using Deepgram for transcription, audio is sent to their servers. When using self-hosted Whisper, all transcription happens locally.
- No AI training: We do not allow any AI provider to train on your data. All API calls use options that disable training data collection where available.
Your choice: You can configure LifeLine to use only local providers (Ollama + self-hosted Whisper), ensuring no data ever leaves your hardware.
5. Self-Hosting
LifeLine is designed to be self-hostable. If you run LifeLine on your own hardware:
- All data remains on your infrastructure.
- No data is sent to LifeLine Assistive Technologies LLC.
- You are responsible for your own data security, backups, and encryption key management.
- This privacy policy applies only to our hosted service. Self-hosted instances are governed by your own policies.
6. Data Retention
- Active accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
- Account deletion: When you delete your account, we delete your user database and all associated data within 30 days. This deletion is permanent and irreversible.
- Call recordings: Stored according to your retention settings. You can configure automatic deletion after a period you choose.
- Backups: Encrypted backups are retained for up to 90 days after account deletion for disaster recovery, then permanently destroyed.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- AI providers: As described in Section 4, to process AI requests you initiate.
- Legal compliance: If required by law, subpoena, or court order. We will notify you unless legally prohibited from doing so.
- Safety: If we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm to you or others.
We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update or correct your personal information.
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data.
- Export: Export your data in a standard, machine-readable format.
